Convert from
DVD to Divx with Mac

you need to decrypt the DVD on the Hard
Drive, with software of
DVD Rip.

D-Vision |

With D-Vision you can
convert a DVd to Divx, Xvid, or H.264. You can also
extract the audio of a DVD to mp3 or AC3. You can also
cut or join avi files (parts over 1 GB, for example),
demux audio and video from OGM, and other nice features.
Very easy to use. You
just need to set up a few options, and everything will
be done automatically.

FFmpeg-X |

Can convert a DVd to many
formats, like Divx, Xvid, H264, VCD, SVCD e
others. The
conversion to divx and xvid
formats is based on the external encoder called
mencoder.
Compared to the other
apps of this section, FFmpeg-X supports more formats,
but is more complex (you have to download some external
plugins and you have to setup many more options.
Results are very good,
expecially if we manually configure mencoder and avoid
speeds too high.

A very good open source
app, that let us convert a DVD to some mpeg-4 formats,
with nice feature for audio: AAC, mp3, OGG, AC3. We can
execute the conersion starting from a folder on the Hard
Drive (the classic VIDEO_TS), from an ISO image of the
DVD, or directly from the DVD.
