aMule |
|
aMule stands for all-platform Mule.
aMule is an eMule-like client for the
eD2k and Kademlia networks, supporting multiple
platforms.
Currently aMule (officially) supports
a wide variety of platforms and operating systems, being
compatible with more than 60 different hardware+OS
configurations.
aMule is entirely free, it's
sourcecode released under the GPL just like eMule, and
includes no adware or spyware as is often found in
proprietary P2P applications.

Bittorrent |

The fastest p2p
client, if you are able to find the right .torrent file
on many websites (just need to search on search
engines).
You you are looking
for a modified version of Bittorent (any many people do
prefer modified versions), you shoul try
Transmission, a fast and light
Bittorent client.

mLDonkey |

Formerly, mldonkey was a Linux client for
the eDonkey network, built from a reverse-engineered
version of the protocol. Now, it is also able to connect
to multiple networks (gnutella, Direct-Connect,
Soulseek, etc).
MLdonkey runs on most Unix clones,
on Mac OS X
(and on many other platforms).
Very fast for finding
sources, and a lot of nice features (bandwidth control,
etc.). Nowadays, MLDonkey
still has a bad reputation among clients since it used
to be aggressive back in the early days,
and some emule MODs could penalize it.
