    Audio Player for Mac

(mp3, aac, and other audio formats)

for iPod and iTunes there are separated sections

VLC

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

A great open source player (available not only for Mac, but even for other platforms), that is able to play almost everything, from audio files (mp3, ogg, etc.) to divx and DVDs without the need of external plugins.

Very easy to use, its GUI is not so outstanding, but VLC is in any case a great app.

MoreAmp
Audio player, transcoder and cd ripper for Mac OS X, OS 9, Windows, Unix, and Linux. Plays and creates ogg, flac, mp3, aac, m4a, mp4, wav, and aif, and plays wma. 31-band equalizer, repeat loop, variable pitch/tempo, ram or ramdisk preload, more.

Good user interface, MoreAmp is still in early stage. Quite good, there is room for many improvements. Anyway, there are better audio player for Mac at this time.

CogOSX
CogOSX is a free open source audio player for OS X. Currently it supports the following formats:Ogg Vorbis, Mp3, Flac, Musepack, Monkeys Audio, Shorten, Wavpack, AAC, Apple Lossless and Wave/AIFF.

If are not looking a player with shining effects, but you need only something of simple that can support most audio formats, and that is not very heavy for CPU, then you have found your player. Even with all GUI limitations, CogOSX is probably my preferred audio player for Mac.
