plugin that shows pictures and QuickTime files directly
from the Finder or any software that handle this kind of
plugin. It helps you to quickly view numerous photos,
navigate through a pictures folder, within multiple
windows or in fullscreen. You can use the diaporama
functionality, change the background color, change the
desktop background picture with one click, read EXIF
photographics tags.
Not very easy to
understand at the beginning; needs some time to learn
it.

apps from Apple, and you can find it bundled in iLife.
there are many features, not only for
viewing, but (like in the most recent versions) even for
sharing.
iPhoto supports up to 250000 pics, making some huge
photo albums, that we can easily browse to find what we
need. There are many effects that can be applied to
slideshows, or we can even create colorful Calendars.
